Help using Garmin XT on N95 - No Voice!!

2 replies · 9,943 views · Started 12 March 2008

I've recently installed Garmin XT on my N95. Everything works prefectly well except there is no voice guidance.

Of course I have checked that my phone is not on silent and also the settings say that voice guidance is enabled + volume 100%.

I think the problem stems from a file called garmindevice.xml in my Garmin directory on my memory card. Every time I remove it, it keeps recreating itself therefore disabling the voice (I think).

The voice works about once every 5 times I start the program up which is clearly not ideal. I have tried deleting all the text in the garmindevice.xml file and saving it as a read only file.

I thought this seemed to do the trick but not so.

Can someone please help?!!!!

Thanks

you probably didnt install the voice guidance pack which is available for free on garmin's website for anyone to download. its an exe file i believe, so garmin needs to be connected to your computer in data transfer mode.

I definately do have the voices installed as it does work intermittently, about once every 5 times I start the program as a guess. Thanks for your reply though
