Can you upgrade your firmware yourself, and if so has anyone been able to locate it? I see offically R1D is out and I am also seeing R1F floating around forums.

The new firmware version seems available in a limited market as of now. But i believe that SE will make it available to most countries soon. No, i dont think you can make the upgrade yourself. Just like in most SE devices before, you will have to send it to authorized SE shop to do that

That's really great (not) news for us early adopters who have Euro phones in the US or Canada. Somehow I doubt SE will do free flash upgrades for us, even though we're all collectively driving the early buzz and lust factor for the phone, which will mean major sales for SE once it does become 'official' in the US and Canada 😞

I got my companion upgraded to R1D just the other day - in Sweden.
It took over an hour!
The sound has been improved but I don't see any other improvements yet ...
The R1F is a non-confirmed upgrade, so maybe it's just around the corner ...
What I really want to be upgraded though is a T9-possibility!!!!

Do you mean that the outgoing sound has improved? I had mine in for service last week and got it back (still with R1B) . They couldn't find any problem! People still have problems hearing me.
