Has anyone seen a situation where there seems to be an inconsistency between the amount of memory used and that free? What I am talking about specifically is in the apps manager, if you total the memory for installed, apps, add to this the memory used for Calendar, contacts etc, it does not come to the total of mem in use as per the figures at the bottom of the screen - I allegedly have 1105kb in use, and 2987 free, which is not right:
Adding it up, I have 31 + 13 + 11 for apps, and 13 + 70 + 18b + 17 + 191 + 28 = 374k (approx).
So where does 1105kb in use come from? More to the point, this phone is supposed to have 4mb - I see most people say this is actually 3.6, even so on mine, mem in use plus mem free is 4092 i.e 4mb. I am presuming the operator puts stuff in there to the tune of around 400 - 500k, which accounts for the 3.6 figure people talk of, so event taking that into account, I am still missing at worst 200k - say worst case, 500k for operator stuff, plus 374k = 874 - taking that back from the 1105 allegedly in use, I am missing 1105 - 874 =231k.
Forgive the maths, which I dare say is wrong somewhere ( 😊 ) but just trying to be thorough. so that perhaps anyone who knows anything about this would be good enough to put me straight on this - I can only assume I am missing something basic here.
