New Message - Show sender?

Is there a way / app that will show the name of the sender when it says on teh front screen whe nyou get a text that says "1 message recieved", so it would say "Message Recieved from [contact name]"? Kinda like SE phones do

Thanks in advance

You will most likely have to use a 3rd party program for that. I use SkyeCallerPro that shows a picture of the contact when they text me. Of course, it only works for contacts in your contact list.

-Cheers

Well it shows the name as well as the picture. I don't believe you can just default to the name without a picture. The only way to do that would be to take a picture of the name, then set that as the picture. As far as just showing the name with nothing else, I don't believe there is a program that does that, but I could also be wrong. Sorry

Here this app does what you want and much more its called S60Ticker v0.9.11 its for s60v3 and u get to chose what features you want to use on it

Here is some of the official info about it but not all info to find out more just use google or something

Application S60Ticker offers a typical Ticker in order to indicate current and important information. At present, all incoming SMS messages with sender phone number or contact information and message text are shown.

Because of the publicly available Developer Toolkits (S60TickerSDK), further applications and data services can be integrated:

* News feed
* Exchange ticker
* Mobile Banking information
* Weather forecasts
* Current music titles (play list)
* Etc.

Urgh! I've tried that ticker before. It's plain horrible IMHO. I'd like an app that shows the details of a text as it comes in, similarly to how to SE phones do.

The closest option I can find besides the ticker is ShakeSMS. Your text is just a shake away.

SkyeCallerPro is pretty nifty. Hadn't seen that before.

And the full screen picture on incoming/outgoing is pretty nice...

I'll just need to find pictures of everyone I know now...
