changing screen

sorry if this has been posted but i have been checking the net for parts for the n95 as i want to get some new buttons as o2 won't swap the buttons because the paint has come off. (crap isn't it)

i have noticed that you can get replacement screens, nothing new there but....

could you get a housing and screen for the N95 8gb and fit it to the standard n95 rm159? would the video chip be able to use it?

the screens are about 40 quid and the buttons and housing are about 14/15 each.

this has been tested before by yade.

i tried it myself as well with no success. the only procedure that hasn't been done yet is to replace the entire slider with the n95 8gb one. if you do this without the right slider, there will be a huge gap between the faceplate and the slider, the screws are not properly aligned, and the connector for the screen is on the other side of the screen replacement.

Hmm, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the N95 8GB slider is very slightly wider. Also, if you replace the screen wouldn't you have to replace the whole top half, which includes the direction pad and the surrounding keys.
