N95 8GB Manual

Not sure if this has been covered but in my manual for my new N95 8GB under the settings section for DISPLAY it gives the last option as ROTATION - I cannot access this option and as far as I know there is no rotation on the N95 8GB only the N82. Is this correct or just a manual misprint.

This is the front cover of my manual - weird it says Nokia N95-2 however it does say on page 12 - Model number: Nokia N95-2, hereinafter referred to as Nokia N95 8GB. The phone is only a week old and bought on contract from O2.

On page 95 under settings/display it clearly says ROTATE SCREEN - Change the setting for automatic display rotation. In most applications, the display rotates automatically between portrait and landscape modes based on the orientation of the device. To ensure that the automatic display rotation works, hold the device in an upright position. Automatic rotation is not functioning, if you change the display rotation setting manually in an application. When you exit the application, automatic rotation is activated again.

Now this is either a manual misprint - or it is there for a future software update. Can someone else please check their manuals to see if they have the same? Thanks

I've got similar manual (n95-2, but layout is slightly different) and there is no sign of the word rotation anywhere in the manual!

There is an accelerometer in the N95 (both 1, and 2). There are some apps that use is (like emtube), but you need a plugin from Nokia for apps to get the raw data from it.

The main use of the accelerometer is to align the camera. You can't take an upside-down picture with it -- once you turn the phone upside down, the camera corrects itself.
