well it's been really a good day today ! 😃

stumbled on this czech website that mentioned how to make the mitsumi work under the widcomm sw. had so much problems trying to connect the n7650 using the widcomm for the past few weeks and the only thing that i could do then was to transfer files thru and fro using the preinstalled sw on the cd.

http://mujweb.atlas.cz/www/nokia7650/bluetooth/bluetooth.htm

For those non-czech, i'll try to tell u step by step how i managed to get it working.

1. Uninstall ANY instance of Bluetooth sw in your computer (Widcomm, Mitsumi BT Suite, Blue Manager.. watever)

2. Restart the computer (remember to unplug the mitsumi from the usb port)

3. Download the MSI Software (I haven't tried the rest yet but this one works fine for me)

http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/bt45.exe

4. Install the sw and restart your computer.

5. Plug in your mitsumi and go to your device manager.

6. You should see an unknown USB DEVICE.

7. Now here comes the real deal. Go to C:\Program Files\Microstar\Bluetooth Software\bin\btwusb.ini

8. Open that file with a notepad and edit the following line.

VID_0db0&PID_1967 to

VID_03EE&PID_641F

There are two instances of it. So change BOTH of them. This line is to allow windows to detect the mitsumi device that u plugged in.

9. Save and restart your computer.

10. Go to your device manager -> select the USB Device -> Reinstall driver

11. Select the microstar path that i have previously mentioned and choose btwusb.ini

12. Windows should install the necessary sw for it !!

13. Restart the comp again and go to your BT Places.

14. Do a search for devices and VOILA !!! You will see your 7650 !

😉 😉

I have been trying to connect my MITSUMI bluetooth with my telephone Nokia 7650 for three days, but I have failed although I performed all the possible solutions that people suggested in news groups.

a. At last, I have tried your solution and can come up to STEP 11 , and failed at step 12 I could not setup Mitsumi even I make the changes in btwusb.ini, WINXP didn't see it may be didn't like it...

b. So, I copy the BTWUSB.INI file in Mitsumi setup CD to the directory C:\Program Files\Microstar\Bluetooth Software\bin, and proceed step 10-11-12 in your message again, then I succeed to setup driver without any problem.

c. And try to connect Nokia 7650 with serial port connection, the same error was occured again (nokia wants to connect with COM0 again, and shuts down the connection).

d. However, when I opened mrouter on system tray and select the COM port for the connection, SUCCESSION AT LAST... PC and NOKIA 7650 have established connection... with a PC SUITE, everything is perfect!!! :P

Thank you very much,

Deniz

Cheers buddy and a big up yours to Mitsumi and all those people who said it cant be done because now I am throwing my Infra red port in the Bin!!!!!

YOu da MAN!!!

This method works for me once mRouter can detect my 6600 but it works on my computer for 2 mins only, and then give me blue screen once reboot, never work again😞
