OK, so I said earlier that AAS doesn't deal with rumour and vapourware. But we make exceptions for the later-than-a-very-late-thing-indeed N-Gage games platform. I just noticed that the official N-Gage blog just let a test post slip onto their RSS feed, entitled "N-Gage First Access Update #2". I'm guessing that the opening up of N-Gage is therefore imminent. Hopefully to include a much wider circle of compatible devices. Any guesses?
Read on in the full article.
There was an interview Nokia gave to (I think) Pocket Gamer a while ago where they said the next device to get N-Gage would be the N95.
That would make a lot of sense as I suspect the N95 has sold far better than the N81, and judging by AAN's survey last year it's going to be the most popular N-Gage device in the launch period.
The eventual list is much longer of course, they've announced ten N-Gage devices so far, but they seem to be rolling them out one by one as part of the beta testing.
Steve meant any idea as to whether the release is imminent or not? What u said about the devices is common knowledge. Cant sleep now as i want to find out if anything will happen!
apparently it was the working title of the post
anyway now it is up online:

with another title but... with a nice surprise attached 😊
That n-gage is coming in motion was already clear on the 22nd of februari when I posted that n-gage reopened the showroom on my n95. I installed the n82 version out of insatiable curiosity.

In the last month features have been changed and improved on n95 n-gage platform and you latest test mail adds that the release will be soon. Most likely with a new firmware will be required. Hopefully yielding flash3 browsing, integrated Maps 2.0, locator, sportstracker and n-gage onto my N95-1. A marvellous celebration of 1 year N95!

Good point, but I wonder what the sales figures of the 6120 Classic are compared to the N95? That too, should be high up on the list.
I wonder where the N93 will fit into all of this, IMO the best of the current N-Gage compatible phones, but at the same time perhaps not that popular which of course could mean it's way down on the priority list, guess only time will tell.

I totally agree the 6120 should be on the platform, I wrote an article all about it for AAN a while back. I'm just saying the N95 has already been announced for N-Gage so it's more likely to actually happen.

Whenever it does happen, at least it's on the official list which means it would be difficult for Nokia to back out of supporting it.
Well Nokia has left out N93 users for too long with no firmware updates for several months! We can read that there are several dissatisfied N93 users who are asking for a firmware on Nokia's own forum but till now, Nokia has ignored them. Anyone knows why?
sorry...........no idea........
