hi ppl, got a N95 8GB the other day, it is an 02 phone but it is unlocked so i am using it to replace my sony ericsson k850i which i hated with a passion.
on vodafone contract and vodafone setiings wont allow me to send mms, retrieve email from hotmail or connect to vodafone live although it lets me connect to msn uk and other websites. i get error message saying packet data connection not available.
product code is 0559497 but have changed it to the Euro 1 code using nemesis software
phone is at V11.0.026 at the mo.
anyone have any advice on how to solve my dilema as Voda arnt very helpful.
plus should i upgrade to V12,V15 or the V20 updates. i just dont wanna lose picture quality of camera or anything as thats wot i have read about some ppl doing those upgrades

Make sure you use the Euro 1 code for N95 8GB and not the standard N95
0549487 - Euro 1 Product Code
Then run the updater this will take you upto V15. Do not enter a standard N95 product code as it can potentially brick the phone. They aren't fully compatible as far as I'm aware.
I have an O2 model and this is what I did, the phone is working perfectly now and I haven't lost anything in way of picture quality. If anything the phone is much more stable.
i am using that euro 1 code but nokia nseries updater says i have latest software installed
should i back my phone up before upgrading?is there chance it would wipe all my data like contacts, music and the spiderman3 video?
never had any data loss wen upgraded my n80 but different phone so have to ask
it takes agaes to back up though coz of spiderman, anyway i can skip backing that up and just do tunes and contacts?

You will need to back up everything to Nokia PC Suite however you will lose the Spiderman 3 movies activation key and will not be able to play it anyway.
When you do a restore after upgrading DO NOT RESTORE SETTINGS!

vodafone link above wont send me the settings even though it says it has
ok phone is up and running, vodafone havent sent me any settings but after v15 update everything is working so far, havent tried retrieving email yet though.
phone seems quicker to respond although could be imagining it
