Hi,
I've had a 9210i for a little while now but I have problems while surfing on the internet. The pages do not show all the Gif images correct, a lot of images i can't make out even buttons with Gif graphic writing on them is ilegiable. What the images look like is as if somebody has used a vertical shredder and left the image there verticaly shredded!!.
I have tried many times to correct this problem, such as resizing the page didn't work. Also many times reformatting via pc suite and reloading all_data.sis file many times and other files such as viewer.sis or just viewer5.sis.
Also have cleared cache used switcher tool.
It seems it is not a memory issue but a Gif internet graphic issue maybe?
Has anyone else had similar problem, and you have fixed it could you please explain how you fix it.
Thanks.
9210i Internet graphics problem
Gif's aren't 100% supported, like animated gif's for instance, they won't work.
but if you want gif, there is a program out there called gif viewer 😉
I saw my friend today and has a 9210 now i'm miffed cos the 9210 shows pages with all the gifs shown and my 9210i doesn't. My 9210i shows the gifs shredded verticaly or does not show them at all !! Where it does not show them it leaves a massive blank on the screen that takes ages to scroll past very very slowly even using chr+down arrow. Even by using ctrl+chr+arrow right key to the bootom of the page navigating back up the page past the massive blankness takes ages. Something is telling me the 9210 is a better device than the 9210i here for showing gif graphics on a web page.
Funny thing is that if I look at any gif images through images viewer direct or from file manager they show all so nicely even the shredded ones that I can't view on the web are show without problem of line in the image viewer... What's going on ???
I keep reinstalling either via direct download via web (save file install) or via pc suite or by installing from files from memory card. None of these methods has resolved the problem although I have formated c: and d: drives many times to be sure of good install.
Do anybody else suffer from bad graphics while using the web on their 92xx devices ??
Or can anybody think for what I could do next to resolve this problem..?
the 9210 uses a different browser. On my 9210 I can't view any image with Opera, but the build in web application works great. Maybe upgrading your firmware will help you.

Yes I also suffer this problem, not all the gifs load up, I've tried everything like you and the problem cannot be corrected  as far as i'm concerned its just one of theose things you have to live with! 😞
Do you also suffer from just blank pages loading up, instead of the actual web page, this is also a very annoying problem!
try to =http://aikon.webplaza.ch/cawt.zip]URL installthis[/url]
try this http://aikon.webplaza.ch/cawt.zip
4u2nv yes sometimes I goto a page that is just blank only the site header on the top screen bar. But I think this is more to a site just developing so I change the .org to .net or .com etc and mostly then I get the correct page.
.
What I do get often when I have graphics switched on (having using graphics now switched of as they show badly) is the top of the page header then a big big space with nothing there.. This is where graphics are meant to be shown.
.
Tip that I have found is press a link to another page then press previous or back button and mostly the graphics will now be shown.
.
But it will not correct the bad graphics, they stay always bad.
Willem I have downloaded that file Cawt.zip and have seen that it is double the size of the one I already got installed. So me thinking bigger is better I have installed the new one that you suggested.. It has not made the bad graphics better but any update files are welcome Thank You.
.
I have visited the site since and looks ok for what I can read as in German i'm having to use GoogleTranslator to translate better for me. Maybe soon I will find the motherload of the goodies to be had there UPDATES for my 9210i 😮)
FAO Willem, I have also download/ installed this and I can@t see any sort of improvement when surfing the net!
😞
I've had my firmware updated but still the graphics problem is still there.
Is it just the two of us that have graphic problems with the 9210i ?
Ok a lot do show alright but then when others don't show correctly or not at all it spoils the viewing pleasures of being on that page.
Many sites I see problems, even at Nokia.com and co.uk this can't be good for buisness for Nokia. Someone buys a 9210i visits their site as it's on the browser homepage when www is activated on 9210i. To be greeted to bad graphics.
I would like to know if you other 9210i users reading this now have noticed some problems also when viewing with your 9210i with graphics.
Please respond, so we know if it's just two 9210i's or many many more!!.
This screws me around... :-? 😮
nows the time to push for PNGs !
Nokia has asked for my 9210i to be returned again this time to fix the graphics problem I have on the net.
I will post here when it returns, if the problem has been fixed!!. So then you can get your 9210i s fixed also.
They tried the same sites on their 9210i and theirs did what it was meant to do while mine didn't.
Now to wait and see what magic results they perform. :squarewink:
Lets see...
