I love using applications like Solun on my 9210. However, for me to say that I am anything more than a most rank ammateurish ammateur astronomer would be a lie - I know nothing, but I love to think about what is 'up there'.

That's why I am well chuffed with this software that I found, totally by accident, by a company called FMJ Software.

This chap has written a proggie called Star Strider while at university and it is outstanding, magnificent, beautiful, informative and a work of art!

I just thought I'd mention this to you guys in the community waffle incase someone it looking for something similar. It's like Celestia or Open Universe, only better (and, unfortunately, you have to pay for the extra, but it's worth it).

You can visit any major body (planet or moon) in the solar system, and star in it's massive catalogue and do so using any number of parameters (for example, you can say that you want to journey from Venus to Saturn, or Mercury to Sirius and you want the journey to take three minutes). It is so smooth and realistic (well, when I say "realistic", I mean, it's like watching Star Trek 😃 ) . For the scientifically minded among you, it has all sorts of relativistic settings and other scientific stuff that I would love to understand.

There is even a free screensaver module that comes with it.

It has its own script so you can make your own presentations also!

Great stuff! Give it a try! Don't bother telling them I told you about this because I'm not getting anything for telling you. I just want to share this with you!
