Thanks a LOT. You are from ?
my volume up snapped off about 6 months ago. i still have the switch and just blu tacked it in place and its workin ok.i tend not to use it unless i have to but it seems to be ok
He works in the manufacturing site that makes products for *cough* Ericsson where I work. They just found the part details and got a sample of 10 sent to them.
I am in Portsmouth, UK. If you are in the UK I could probably send 1. If not I will give you the part details and you could order samples
I'm looking for one of these switches if anyone can help me?
Please email me at
Many Thanks
My volume micro switches broke off on saturday, with orange you can just give them a call and they will send you a new phone. as long as you have the insurance.
if you don't, then get it through the automated phonecall to 150 and then claim next week.
i got a brand new phone delivered on sunday morning!. forgot how good the slide feels on a new one!
Unfortunately the phone is now out of warranty as I got it in May last year, so just need the switches and I'll solder back on myself. If i hadn't of lost the original ones i'd be safe, but can't find a part or component number anywhere
My volume down switch broke off. Thankfully, I've still got it. Has anyone here successfully soldered theirs back on? I'd appreciate any advice before I attempt it myself.

My wife's volume switch has just packed up and I'm from Portsmouth too.
It's certainly worth a beer mate!
Cheers, Gord

I think you'll find that Nokia have a 2 year warranty.
My switch broke off i soldered it back on it was very fiddly what i ended up doing was applying some solder to the bottom of pins then placed it on the board and applied heat to the top and that fixed it.

I've got a similar problem - both my volume switch and the flash have broken on mine but because i once changed the product code to obtain the latest firmware my local official nokia technician refuses to do the repair under warranty.
Not impressed at all as at least one of the faults is clearly hardware related, nothing to do with the firmware and by his own admission a very common issue with the N95.
This is the same technician who once tried to charge me for a firmware update before the days of the NSU on the basis that i had a virus on my N73!!! Needless to say i refused to pay him. :icon13:
you apply some solder to the bot part of the legs then place it over the solder points and then place the soldering iron on the other side of the legs and it should melt the solder fixing the switch back on the board.
