Actually you can play it but there is no sound... I haven't had time to investigate why the sound emulation is crashing 😊
/Andreas
Hope you can fix it soon! Can't wait to play all these adventure games on the P800! Is it smooth or do you have problems like you have in eQuake?
It's smooth (tested with monkey 1 and monkey 2).
I've already posted binaries on the my-symbian p800 forum (without sound support).
It seems that my site is down so I don't have access to the binaries right now I guess you could grab them from my-symbian if you want them 😊
But that is a very early alpha release and is unpolished in every way there is 😊
still waiting for a version with sound 😃
Have you ever thought of converting it for the 9210?.You would definetly make money.
rossar: did you know dopewars had been released on the 9210?
😉 (Nice avatar...)
It's an opensource, so how can he make money with it?
Somebody else made it first(not on P800), but i agree, he did a GREAT work, i couldn't have done it myself, so I wont complain 😊
I installed the game twice on my p800 but the game didn't appear in programs. what did I do wrong?
Nothing it's not supposed to appear in the programs... you have to start it manually from the filemanager 😉
Best Regards...
Do i have to doenload a plug in Called File Manager ?
is'nt it Already installed in the P800 ??
if not ... where should i get it from ?
thanx
Hello all,
do you have any saved game, otherwise I cannot run it. Am I right?
Could you please sent it on my mail: [email protected]
Thanks.
Radek
I know this is an OLD topic but I can't seem to get this to work. I tried the Day of the Tentacle demo but it never got past the first demo scene. I also tried the PC and Amiga versions of the Monkey Island 1 demo but it crashes every time. Can anyone help??
Thanks!
I've installed the emulator but how do you install the games?
Games are easy to install. Copy the game files to your p800 (I think they need to be on the same drive as escumm is installed). Then, start escumm and choose 'add game'. You then need to browse to the directory you saved the game in (you will need to double tap to move to a directory) and then escumm will find the game. Then just select it and click run. Good luck getting it to work though!
A port of "Full Throttle" would be sweet! 😊
I successfully installed escummvm and Monkey Island 2. The game runs great, but I have two questions: 1) How do you save the game? 2) How do you exit escummvm?
Anyone managed to do either of these yet? Is it a case of waiting for these features in the next version of escummvm?
I have the same problems. I can run Monkey Island fine but have to turn off the phone to exit (using the jogdial flips to other apps buts leaves the toolbar as escummvm so can't run File Manager to end task). Also I can't figure out how to save manually, though it looks like escummvm auto saves every five minutes.
Anybody figured out how to save manually or to load one of the auto saved games?

I'd put File Manager in the toolbar; it should work.
OK, I have monkey 2 installed and running but how can I enter the copy protection code when prompted? There is no on-screen keyboard or handwriting prompt!
Please help!
If you're using 0.02 then you can click the jogdial to enter the save/load game menu. From there you can exit the game if you wan't too...

I have the same prob! 😞
Is there any solution to that?
Can anybody help us ?
If you got lucky with escumm then post exactly the files needed (name, version, size etc) and since demo files are pd, why not a link where you found them.
Give the info and ill write the documentation for escumm
Some compatible demos can be downloaded here:
http://www.sebelinteractive.de/scummvm/download.html
I created a folder in document on the DUO and uploaded the game files into that folder
To start escumm I used the filemanager. Just navigate to the escumm folder (in Apps) and start escumm.
Once in escumm, navigate to your games and add them to the list.
Make sure you have version 0.02, when pressing Jog dial you can save/load and exit!
The Games run great! Excellent App 😉
Hello all,
I may sound silly but can anyone tell me if we can play any Amiga games using scummvm?
Thanks guys
No you can't
scummvm isnt an emulator in the "normal" sense (as emulation the hardware) but a an enterpeter... a bit like e-doom. It can use data (games) written for the scrumm engine (lucas arts).
To emulate amiga in that way would need a new emulator for every game.
spf,
Just thanking you for the reply mate!
