NSS not recognising N73 (but everything else is??)

Im finally at a point where i now need to debrand my phone for use with a PAYG sim. I have ended my contract with three so no longer need it to be branded or consign to three networks...

Ive tried to follow some guides to but come to a halt when NSS will not detect my phone when searching for devices...

Ive installed nokia pc suite and that finds it ok, so does NSU.

Ive tried reinstalling etc and also on another PC but neither seem to want to detect it.

Any ideas of why NSS is being ghey with my phone?

C'mon guys... any help would be appreciated.

My signal has now gone on my three phone as i have had my number switched to O2. I could really do with debranding my phone.

I need an unlock code??? Won't debranding unlock my phone??

Or do you mean that without three's unlock code my phone will not be recognised by NSS??

Debranding is not the same as unlocking.

Debranding will remove any operator front end software and give you the intended look and feel of the original Nokia firmware.

Unlocking will neutralise the phone and allow it to be used on any network. For this you need an unlock code.

I doubt this is the reason you are having NSS connection problems, but either way you won't be able to use your o2 SIM until you have the unlock code from Three - and that can cost anything from 15 to 30.

I called them eariler and they did say it would cost 15. Not much i suppose, although i said no and had a quick google on how to do it myself... Looks like its more bother than its worth.

Still really want to debrand this mutha!! The camera is terribly slow.

But you say your contract with Three is cancelled, the signal from the Three SIM is dead so you need to unlock it otherwise all you can use is a Three PAYG SIM.

When you connect to NSS do you choose PC Suite Mode with the cable?
Do you get the phone found when you click the magnifying glass (top right)?
Do you get the phone info when you click Phone Info?
