Few Things with the Home Screen

Hi,

Had my phone 1 day, and have a couple of questions:

1. On the homescreen, can I change the small shortcut icons?

2. What does the edge button on the bottom left of the screen do? (The one below the menu key)

3. The calendar entries that are shown on the home page - can I make it so it displays the entries in the next week, not just the ones on the current day?

Cheers.

Hi Franklin.

1. Yes - Active shortcut apps changeable in Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > Standby mode > Active standby apps

2. Edge key? lol (sorry :tongue😊. I suppose it does look like a prism. It's a pen - the Pen key. Multi uses: In messaging, switches T9 on/off, changes languages, etc. In text fields a long press and hold activates the cut and paste facility. Move the joystick to select text. Copy/delete with 'c'/press and hold to paste. Many 3rd party apps also use the Pen key for their functionality.

3. Calendar entries will always show appointments for that day if there are any. If not, it will show "No cal entries for today" and the next available appointment(s). There is no way to make the calendar show multiple forthcoming entries.

Cheers

Chris

Also, what program file do I need to install apps? Is it .sis or something else? This is S60 3rd Ed right?

.sisx is S60 3rd Ed.
.sis is 1st/2nd Ed.

These can be installed via PC Suite down the cable or via memory card by running them from a file manager prog (Y Browser or X Plore) or opening after bluetoothing them.

Calendar entries only show entries up to a week ahead.
When's your first appt? If it's after Weds next week it won't show til a week before.

The Calendar application is very basic and could be improved.
You'll have to get a 3rd party app like Handy Calendar if you're serious about scheduling with your phone.
