Should I get M2 or Duo Pro and will 8GB memory card work? — Sony Ericsson P990

1. I am confused - will 8GB work on the P990i. There are mixed messages on the internet?

2. Someone people have reported that 8GB is not working, but someone said that flash memory is due to the FAT16 and FAt32 issue (under Windows FAT16 will only support 4GB and you have to reformat with FAT 32 for bigger disks?). Not sure is this myth or truth?

3. Also, as Sony is moving to the M2 - can I use this with a Duo adaptor?. I suppose it is more future proof going for the Duo? But will it work on the P990i?

Hello,

I've just bought a microSD 8Gb (transflash /SDHC) on ebay with an adapter to memory stick pro duo and it works perfectly on my P990i.
It's cheaper than a MSproduo 8GB card (due to the high demand for PSPs).
I would recomend you this option.

A quick up date the M2 worked fine, though it did take a while to get recognised. I had to re-format e.t.c. insert/re-insert. Now that it is working, I dare not remove it from the P990i.
