The option to search for WLAN has disappeared from the list on the home screen. It used to appear after the calendar entry for anything that was upcoming.
I used to be able to select, and it would search for WLAN around me.
Any ideas where this might have gone and how I can get it back.

have you 'restarted' it?? Used to dissappear in the older fw's and re-appear after a paused reboot.

They mean to restart your phone, power it off, then back on after a short pause. Also called a power cycle.

OK, thanks - that's what I have been trying and the problem still exists.
I have the same problem as described at the start of this thread - WLAN search has disappeared from my home menu. In an attempt to fix it, I updated the software on my phone last night, and when I turned it on, the WLAN thing had reappeared. However, when I restore data from the mass memory, the WLAN thing was not there.
When I go to TOOLS>WLAN wiz. I get a message saying system error. I was still able to connect to wireless in my flat last night, but with the disappearance of the WLAN search thing from the Home screen, I cannot search for connections elsewhere.
Any ideas?
Do a firmware reflash and install each application seperately. Figure out which app is causing the issue and try to avoid it.

Make a note of any applications that you have installed on your own.
Then use nokia Software update to reinstall the firmware on your phone.
The same way you updated your software before.
Now, install each application from your note one by one, each time you install an application restart your phone until you get the WLAN to dissapear. Once the wlan dissapears, note which application caused this issue. Reflash (software update) again and install everything except that one application.

I haven't installed too many applications, and none recently - this problem only appeared yesterday. I did use the flickr uploader yesterday -perhaps that has triggered this problem. However, I have used it many times before with no ill consequences. I may try to uninstall that. I am really keen not to lose that, though, as it is a great application and is really the only one I use.
