What i'd like to do is plug a line into the n95 (from a stereo or other external source) and record it.
Been playing around but drawn a blank so far.
If you plug a line straight in to the handset, the phone ignores it and records with the built-in condenser mic.
If you plug a line into the hands-free / radio lead thingy the phone picks up sound through the condenser mic *and also* a very very faint signal from the hands-free mic
Anyone know of any app or anything else that makes this possible?
It is possible because i saw Reuters issue their journalists with a kit that included a mic. Never found it outside of a news article though.

"We also supplied a basic tripod to help in video interviews and a Sony microphone for directional audio recording and reducing background noise in interviews - this required a special adaptor plug that was made by Nokia for the project."
😡
So it can be done - but how?
