I hope someone can help me figure this out. There's a symbol in my e90 screen that I know aint bluetooth, or infrared. It was there when I got the phone and I cant seem to figure out what its for.

I went to Nokia Care and they said that its the no WLAN server available sign, but i feel like it isnt. Hope someone can help shed light on this one. Nothing bad happens to the phone but it just bothers me what that sign is for and how do I get it out. Thanks in advance 😊

It isn't the WLAN symbol with a cross through it. Is your phone an unbranded one or a subsidised network handset? The only thing I can think is that it's pre-installed software which connects to a server and (clearly) hasn't been set up yet.

What software do you have listed in your application manager?

That's the Blackberry Connect symbol.

Your phone probably came bundled with the BB service, just like my wife's e61i did. As far as I know, you can't take it out unless you uninstall the BB service. A firmware update will probably do the trick if your phone is not on a branded product code since the generic-type firmwares don't include the BB service as standard.

thanks for the replies. some people responded in other forums that it is the blackberry connect. The firmware is up to date... also, i checked installations/applications/ and the blackberry application was there. Do you think its a good idea to delete it? i dont use a blackberry anyway...

From my experience with these things, it probably won't cause your device to malfunction if you uninstall it but, of course, you do so at your own risk 😊

Hi edrixc,

Hope you have already fixed your problem. I noticed that you're a Globe subscriber too. I was wondering where you got your phone since (as mentioned in this thread) the Blakberry application desn't come with the standard mobile phone package. It is usually installed or provided in mobile phones released by the network operators if you are subscribing to their Blackberry service.

Thank you.
