Does E70 trip meter is expected to be correct?

Nokia E70 and Nokia LD-3W GPS module.
While testing navigation with Trip distance I get erratic data - when walking outside a get the max speed reading up to 25 km/h (instead 4-5 km/h) and distance 6 km instead of 2km...
When saving and sending cordinates later to PC based map these appear to be correct.
I have noticed the accuracy is sometimes 20 metres and sometimes when not moving at all that average speed is 1 km/h.
It looks like GPS is drifting too much and calculation based sampling rate isn't suitable at this accuracy rate. It may be that GPS drifting is calculated as distance.
There doesn't seem to be any settings to fine tune application.
But as such, this built in Trip application doesn't make any sense.
Is it expected to work more precisely or is there something wrong with hardware?

Also checked the firmware .
It's the latest 3.0633.09.04 20-11-06 RM-10
