I have an n95 and after negative experiences with Symbian and signing I am happy to say that I can now sign any application myself without ANY intervention by Symbian. I have installed everything I had that was unsigned onto my n95 and I also have full read and write capability to C:\sys,bin,private etc on "my" phone.the only area that is is not accessible is Z: , maybe a week or two and that will come too.
Cheers
Mike

Hi,
Thanks for the info. The main reason I might need this is my N95 is back at Nokia being repaired. In the unlikely even tthey replace instead of repair it, I won't be able to install some of my apps which were signed with the old IMEI
Get the OPDA certificate instead. You know it will work for 3 years, how long will this server be up?
Anyway, it's nice to see how SymbianSigned now are absolutely nothing. They misused their power and it led them to their demise. Let's just hope Symbian learned from that 😊
have you read this...
http://finestfones.blogspot.com/2008/03/symbian-92-has-been-hacked.htmland then this? (scroll down to the orange text then read from there)
http://finestfones.blogspot.com/2008/03/guidetutorial-how-to-install-unsigned.htmlit's confirmed working by me at least, dunno if other people have had problems with it.
Sounds too good to be true. How many people have actualy tried it. What if it bricks the phone.

Its 100% true its all over the net, iv done it and it works fine, it wont brick the phone as it only writes a file to the RAM drive, so nothing will go wrong, read my guide i posted.
it'll work for now but i 100% guarantee that noka will implement some counter attack to stop people being able to do this in future firmware upgrades.
I am going to try this myself though lol
Yeah I'm fairly sure it works and it's safe. It probably will be fixed in the future like ccraig said, but I guess that's how the security industry works, never-ending exploits and bug-fixes...
I was really tempted to try it, but then realised that I can already sign everything I want to and don't really have any need to look into the protected folders, so I'll pass 😊
