I have LAN internet but whenever I download anything, its speed is shown just to be 4-5 Kb/s. It needs more than hour to download a file around 20MB. Can I upgrade my Nokia N95 firmware using internet with this speed. If I use this internet, then how much time would be needed for the phone to be updated?
Please can anybody help me know the exact size of the latest firmware 21.0.016 for Nokia N95?
Please guide me with confirm reply!
Regards
Thanks to all those help me
N95 Firmware 21.0.016 Update On Slow Internet Speed
The update is around 120mb from what I remember. At 20mb per hour you would be looking at 6 hours to update.
I did it using 2mb broadband and it took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Could be worth you doing the update from a pc with a faster connection.
using dial-up for this sort of thing is foolish.
if you can't find one take it to a Nokia Service Center .. Good Luck!😊
It'd prolly be faster to download it by connecting your phone to your PC and using your phone's 3G connection instead. IIRC 3G can download as fast as 48Kb/s, and if you have HSDPA coverage you could probably get up to 460Kb/s. Dialup can only get 7Kb/s, at best.
Are you on a good data package? If so, I suggest that 😊
[EDIT] Actually... would that work? Would the NSU just disconnect the connection when it starts installing the firmware on the phone?
Is there any option I can update my phone software over the air without involving a PC?
