Hi just got n95 8gb black today and i'm really impressed. Im used to the interface as used to have the n95 but with this one I have a really annoying problem already. PS: have ver v11.0.026 and it's branded to o2, please don't tell me to update firmware as don't want to invalidate warranty on day 1, I'd prefer to send it back if you guys deem it faulty:
The problem: When I 1st played with it the task manager worked fine ie I could see running apps and close them etc.
Since loading the music player tho, I can't get rid of it (I selected close endless times - not hide).
Now when I hold menu button down to get the task manager it launches music player straight away after briefly showing music player and podcasts (plus any other apps running, but its so brief I cant even see what apps are running).
I've tried a hard reset but it seems to remember regardless.
It's so annoying me, please help...
1. updating firmware won't invalidate the warranty. nokia are all for the upgrading, hence why they give you a cd that has nokia pc suite, which leads to the software updater to... update the phone's software, i.e. the firmware.
2. go in to music player and click exit. you can't do it via the task manager.
Hi chrida86, sorry I wasn't clear - yes I have tried going directly to music player and clicking exit, it doesn't work.
Also I have installed the pc software and the updater says I have the latest/there are no updates etc?
I get feeling my phone is confused, it's like within a millisecond it goes straight to music player when I activate task manager. I even deleted the track that it was in middle of playing but then it just moved to next in list, I have deleted all music now and it just says - no music. On another note, it shouldn't switch directly to an app at all anyway it should display the list and wait for me to take an action.
I can briefly see the icons of the loaded tasks before it switches, it's such a windup as because of the behavior I obviously can't close the other apps.
first of all, if you get Handy Taskman it will allow you to close the music player. on my n95 8GB i just click EXIT and it does actually close the app. because you have a branded firmware, the update will not show up until you change your product code to that of the unbranded n95 8GB. i would go ahead and do it.
