Nokia N95 Firmware on 3

Hi, Just a quick question really, I'm sorry if it has been covered before =D

currently Ive got Firmware

V12.0.013
19-06-07
RM-159

id really love to update to the latest versions and have changed the code of a phone once before and managed it fine, but I'm worried that if i changed the code on my new N95 and it goes wrong 3 will tell me to get lost, does anyone know if its worth the risk? and are the benefits worth it?

If you're on 3 in the UK, the latest N95 firmware is 20.0.015. You can upgrade to this using NSU without de-branding your phone. My understanding is that it's the de-branding of the phone that invalidates the warranty.

I upgraded a few weeks ago, and it's like having a new phone. The change to memory demand paging is amazing. Previously, I could only run a couple of apps at a time, but nothing ever seems to shut itself down now.

Highly recommended.

Brilliant =D thanx for the reply and the advise, i tried to update the other day but im sure it said i had the latest version?

After viewing this thread I plugged min in and ran NSU last night and it came back with the V20 but didn't have time to fanny about and do it as I hadn't backed my stuff up at that point.

Will give it a go this evening.

I debranded and updated the firmware on my 3 nokia n95 in fact I have 2 but check to see if the are unlocked one of my brand new was not sim locked the other was unlocked within 5 days from a ebay i use the same guy and he can be trusted.

As for your warranty with 3 it does not void it

Because I have been with 3 for 3 years now I got 2 brand new nokia n95 for £13 each per month and that will be the price on the bill i.e no vouchers to send in

puddy
ps unlike vodafone and orange all my voip settings were their from new my isp gives me 240 free voip calls every month
