I recently purchased a N95-2 through O2, and have been happily using the phone for 2 weeks.
I have noticed however that the slider appears to be slightly wobbly, i.e. if you slide the screen up in portrait mode and push the extended screen from the side it will move slightly. I'm only talking a millimetre, but its noticeable.
Also when the slider is closed the corners of the slider can be depressed slightly, again only by a millemetre or so.
I was wondering if this was normal build quality. I accept there may be some give in the phone construction but wondered if anyone else had noticed the above on their phones.
Thanks.
its semi normal, yet incredibly annoying with this slider wobble. there are a number of fixes on the web, which i did for my 8GB and now the slider is so tight its hard to open/close it sometimes. the first time i did the fix, it was so tight it was dead-locked in open position and couldnt be closed lol. little too tight. check youtube or n95users.com for some of the fixes. the tape trick is easy and great. i bent the metal tab rails and its the best IMO. perfect.
Ah ok. As long as i'm not the only one. 😉
Thanks for the help.
Nah, you are not the only one. Mine does it too; but it doesn't bother me enough to resort to tape and metal tab rails (whatever that is??)
this is where nokia have failed mostly with there slider phones it's not just N95 8GB it happens with some of there other phones too.i hope future phone are better b/c since playing the N-gage games on my phone it as become loser by the day.so some how the sliders need to be tougher in future sliders b'c when your using media keys as gaming buttons it get's worse
i know for a fact that after i bent the metal rails on my slider, it will be impossible to ever come loose again. its a tolerance issue that is easily fixed😊 mine was so tight it was locked in the open position at first!
