hi
can someone tell me how to upgrade my n73 to the latest firmware (me).
i am locked to the 3 network in the uk,i understand this removes certain uses from the 3 network but not bothered because i want to use ad2p headset so need to upgrade to the latest firmware.
also can you tell me if they have fixed the tom tom problems not working with the firmware as i use this everyday.
bit nervous about upgrading as i dont want to brick my phone so if you can talk me through it in plain english or point me to a thread that would be great thanks.
i did a search but got confused :con?

Hi
First you need to see what 3 will allow you to upgrade to, or rather if 3 have put any constraints on the firmware level of your handset.

Visit Nokia's website and download NSU (Nokia Software Updater)

Link

Install, hookup your phone and see what's available.
Latest f/w for ME is 4.0750.31.2.1.
Bluetooth v2.0 connectivity problems were ironed out about 6 months ago.

That's the easy way before you start changing product codes with Nemesis.
😊

hmm checked my phone on the nokia website and it says the latest version is already installed but this is only 3.0638.0.0.1 so how do i get round this please
thanks for any help

Download NSS (Nemesis Service Suite) here.
Backup your phone with PC Suite
Install and hook up your phone
Change the product code of your phone to 0537289
Try NSU again and you should get the latest version of firmware offered to you.
(You have now "debranded" your phone to the generic "vanilla" handset, ie before 3 got their paws on it and gave you a limited functionality)

Search around the forum for how to use NSS.

Any probs, shout back.
😊
