I always thought content copier was backing up my message folders which contanined important messages on my phone.
I now think it does not. You have to move the messages form your folders in messaging app to the inbox then do a back up.
I presumed it was backing up and restoring as tey were still there after I updated my firmware and restored but actually it is probably because they are stored on my memory card and the remained during the update anyway.
So if I had to format the mass memory all my messages would have gone and Id have no back up of them.
Is this right?
Cant nokia change it so that content copier backs up message folders as well?
I.e it backs up the entire messaging program and all sub folders??
It also appears not to be backing up messages that have been bluetoothed to me.

I too have been in this position when I just started using the Nokia PC Suite. Until I found this out by sheer luck.
All the more, it gave me a terrible shock to realize that this fact was neither documented nor flashed during any time that I went through the process of downloading, installing and configuring the application. Nokia PC Suite didn't even inform about this while it was doing the backups.
It must be common sense that this is a very prime issue and the users need to be informed about it with added CAUTION indicators.
The impression I took was that the Content Copier is an incomplete application that Nokia has very un-smartly shipped. :icon13:

exactly its not so bad on the normal N95, you can take your card out during back ups safe in the nowledge it is ok. But you cannot take the mass memory out!!!

The N95 8GB and N81 8GB can be connected to a PC in USB mass storage mode, and then you can copy all files (including system/hidden files) to a PC.

can you then reload the files to mass storage and not have any problems? for instance with spiderman keys etc? If I use content copier as well?
and will it reload the files into the correct locations if i do it this way, i wont have video clips in music folder etc will I?
