Hi
I want to buy a device to plug into my hifi that allows me to stream hi quality music wirelessly from my laptop and my N95
i know you can get a nokia device that deals with the n95 bluetooth streaming, but how about the laptop (it has bluetooth)?
are there any other devices out there cheaper than the nokia one that will work ok?
would i need to run a specific app on my laptop?
cheers
i use the sony HWS-BTA2W BT adapter with my home cinema kit and n95, it works with anything with bluetooth as long as the device has A2DP (stereo bluetooth), the bt adapter works great, it has 2 connections, there both 3.5 mm sockets and 1 is input and 1 is output, i only use the output tho, the input (wen used with line-out on amp) lets u use ur hi-fi etc with bluetooth headphones also as the adapter transmits also, the sound quality is fine also, paid 60 for mine a while ago.
wow that sounds great
so do you reckon it would work with my dell inspiron 6400 laptop with build in bluetooth?
if so, how the heck would i configure it to play the music over wireless
....so when you are within range with you phone, does all sound go through the sony unit, as that would annoy me, i'd only like it to go through the unit when i tell it
is that possible?
i.e. walk in the house, it connects, and you miss a call as it rings via the bluetooth unit with the volume on 0
...am i making sense?
im not sure how ud get the laptop to play via bt, i think u just search for bt device, pair and then play ur music and sound comes thru hi-fi.
When i use n95 i just open the bluetooth app, goto paired devices and select the adapter, n95 connects and any music will then play via hi-fi, but if u get a call the n95 rings as normal, it dosnt ring thru the hi-fi u just answer phone as normal, once finishd the music plays via bt again, iv not tried auto connect as i never leave my n95s bt on.
cool cheers, sounds like a plan
anyone else recommend any hardware to do the job, and also use a laptop to play music?
cheers
if your PC has wifi or if you have a wifi router then you can stream the music to the phone,
have to use the Home Media app in tools>connectivity
wifi is too battery intensive, but thanks anyway.
