Question on PC Suite Backup

Hi Folks,

Got a question on PC Suite Backup. I just formatted my phone & manually loaded new s/w, settings, txfr images etc. For various reasons, I did not want to do a restore.

After I've got the phone set up, I did backup using PC Suite. However, seems like all the old files from previous backups (on the hard disk) are still there after a new backup is done.

Isn't there a way to do a fresh backup based only on what's current loaded on the phone?

Cheers,
Go to c:\nokia\nokia 7650\ and delete or rename the old backup folder!
Tried that initialy but once I do that, the backup doesn't work at all. Within PC Suite, the backup function gets stuck with the message dialog "Closing programs...." and stays there forever.....

The only way I managed it was to uninstall PCSuite and reinstall.

Now the software should think that your new phone is a new device and you should be able to perform a backup.

Hope this helps.

My PC Suite does not recognise any backups that i have and when i try to restore a backup, it says Nokia 7650 has never been backed up to this PC. It says an unexpected error occured when taking a backup.

If I re-install the PC Suite, I will need to get it to recognise the older backups
How can I manually make the software recognise the backups?

Try making a new backup and copy the old backup files over the new files and then restore.

Soooo coool...!

I have managed to restore my contacts. But, funnily it sunchronises the entries and says completed. My Outlook has 1300 Contacts and my phone has only 990 contacts. Everytime it says synchronisation completed and the log file says 0 entries updated. What do i do?
