Y Browser problems

I've been using Y Browser for ages on most of my S60 phones over the last few years and found it to be nothing short of an excellent application. One of the main things I do with it is use it to change the attributes of a file to "hidden". I do this to prevent images like those contained in my TomTom Speed Camera Database showing up in Gallery. It can get quite tedious having to scroll through 30+ icons just to get to some pics of my kids ! 😉 (If Nokia had the presence of mind to allow users to put image folder in the gallery, that would negate the need !)

Anyway, I installed it on my N95 when I got it (version 0.88(2)) and now I have a problem. Whenever I go in to change the file attribute and change it to "hidden", as soon as I press save, I get an error message. And it's not just the same error message. Sometimes it's "failed error-1" and sometimes its "****.jpg is an invalid filemane" (where **** is the filename of the image).

I emailed Jukka, the developer, and to his credit, he mailed me back and promised to look into it. As yet I have not heard anything and I'm wondering whether it's an isolated issue with me or whether anyone else has had a similar problem.

Feedback would be most appreciated 😊

I have exactly the same problem and error messages.
Installed v20 to my N95 8GB the other day and reloaded Y-Browser 0.88 (0) and tried to assign hidden to some items in Gallery and encountered your problem. Have tried numerous other files with the same result. Never had this problem before the installation of V20.
Please let me know how you get on. Would seem to be a conflict on the Nokia V20.
I didn't restore my settings before anyone asks!

I've just tried this and i get the same error.
It never happened in older versions of Y-Browser.

i use X-Plore now more than Y-Browser though.

on a side note, why on earth dont nokia allow you to put images into folder. They let you link them to folders but they are all still visible in the gallery anyway!! stupid.

Being able to put them into folders and set passwords would be a great thing and well within the capabilities of the n95

come on nokia

Anyone know if there has been an update on this? I really like Y-Browser but this is one of the main things I use it for and now I am getting this error every time! I'm using FExplorer for the time being but I do prefer Y-Browser so if it gets fixed I'm straight back there!

I emailed Jukka and got a reply saying he was going to look into it but have heard nothing back. The current version 0.88(2) still has this issue for me. In the end, I just connected the phone in Mass Storage mode and used Windows to set the offending file properties to hidden.

Lack of proper user defined folders in the gallery is one thing that really annoys me about the N95.

The only thing you can do is choose all files and type in the first 3 or 4 chars if you know the file name but its a very clunk implementation.

Mine is working fine

v.20.0.016

Nokia N95 (74.01)

Can't help with your problem but just wanted to confirm is not on all updates.
