The reception is going up and down (and totally out) randomly at times. Anyone have the same problem ?
Although I am on o2 in the uk, I had the same behaviour using a different network in the Netherlands so am sure its something to do with the phone.
Thanks
i take it everyone elses is fine, as there have been no replies
??
It's difficult to tell. You've already eliminated the possibility of it being your provider since you've tried a different network in a different country.
The best way really is to backup all your phone stuff on your PC and re-flash it, see if the problem returns.

I've been backing up, updating and restoring the abackup for a while now. Think I might back, reflash and enter the phone numbers etc manually to make sure its TOTALLY fresh
Restoring a backup is ok in my experience, so long as the phone settings aren't restored. Stuff like contacts, calendar entries, images/videos and messages are all ok.

hmm ok thanks ill try just restoring contacts first then.
thanks
did some research and found that I was only in GSM mode in the phone settings in tools. The reception shot up from 1 bar to max as soon as I did that.
Think its all good now !!
No problems here (GSM only mode forced to avoid excess battery usage)
