Can't delete folders from memory card

I have various empty folders that are on my memory card under Sounds > Digital.
I've removed the tracks that were once in them, but I can't delete the folders and they keep appearing when browsing either on the phone or when connected to the PC.
Any idea how I can delete them?

If you are using a removable memory card, i would suggest using a card reader rather than USB and try deleting them that way, or backing up your memory card and reformatting it.

There may be a program that is re-creating these folders (ie media player playlists?).....

What is this program? Is it part of the music player app? Can I uninstall it?

I wouldn't know what program, if any, could be accessing the memory card. I don't know what you have installed.
