I have version v20.0.0.15, which i installed fine. But im trying to update my phone,
i have done the factory reset on it.
Plugged in usb it finds phone installs drivers and everything fine.
Start the nokia updater, it sayd there is a new firmware available etc.
So i start it it downloads everything, then it says updating,
After a minute my phone switches off and shows the nokia logo,
The updater is stuck on 15 minutes,
when the phone switches to the nokia logo, then a box comes up sometimes that says an unknown device has been found, find drivers and install.
then the updater says phone recovery, take battery out etc
I have tried reinstalling teh phone, the software and everything. anyone got any ideas? thanks
same thing happens to me bud, no idea why, think it might be Vista? Gets so far then the phone just disconnects itself from USB and it's stuck in a never ending Nokia logo show, having to disconnect the phone and battery to get it to turn on scared me into not trying it again
yeah well i do have vista x64, but the v20.0.0.15 updated fine using the same method. Does anyone know of any other methods for updating the firmware?
I had the exact same problem and had to use my daughters laptop with XP running to upgrade.
hmm maybe it is vista then, but its strange how it let me update it to 20.0.0.15 though, and not the latest firmware!!
i updated my phone using my Vista laptop without a problem. have you got the latest version of nokia updater?
yes i do, i downloaded it from the nokia site yesterday
wonder if it could be that, i update mine about 2 weeks or so ago.
anyone else got vista and the lastest NSS installed and hasn't updated to v21 yet?
ive managed to update it, basically once the phone switches to the nokia mobile and the NSU is stuck at 15mins, just CTRL-ALT-Delete and end the NSU process. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE, leave the usb plugged in and restart the NSU, now just keep pressing next, and retry for whatever comes up ( it will say take battary out etc, but dont do that just keep pressing next, repair or retry which ever comes up) finally it should update.
The only way to get the latest firmware on my laptop was to install a clean version of vista and used only the upgrade program on its own.
I know a lot of people have this problem.
Luckly for me is that I have a tape backup program to reload the computer when finished.
Seems most of the problem is when runing vista ultimate version
puddy
The latest Nokia NSU *do* have crash issues on Vista. It's discussed in lengths in the Nokia forums..
(BTW - What models of the RM-320 does have v21 firmware?)
