Database applets to standalone apps

DDH Software, developers of HanDBase, the cross-platform (including S60) database solution, have launched a competition, rewarding the best two 'Applets' (i.e. designed databases, such as Pet Health or CD tracker) with full commercial runtime licenses, 'enabling the winners to turn their entries into commercially-available standalone mobile applications'. Importantly, the 30 day trial version is fine for creating the applets. Press release below the break.

A word of warning - the UIQ version is UIQ2. For some reason (lack of interest?) DDH have not created a version for UIQ3. This is a real shame since the lack of a proper database is a major problem with UIQ3 - to me anyway. I actually end up alternating between my P900 and Pi because of it.

Yep. I even made sure not to flag this news story with UIQ 3, just with UIQ 2.... though front page readers are probably not bothered with news story folder/flags anymore.....
