I just bought my phone on Amazon.com (US version). My network provider is AT&T (Cingular). I live in san francisco, california (Current Time zone: GMT -7:00). I set the 'Network Operator Time' to Auto-update. So it is correct.
But then I went to phoenix, arizona. Current Time zone is supposed to be the same as san francisco, california but it is showing as GMT -6:00 even though i set the 'Network Operator Time' to Auto-update.
What's wrong with my phone? Is this a bug? Or is there something wrong with the phone itself? Do I return it back to Amazon.com?
Time servers.
Since Arizona doesn't observe DST - I suggest you leave your timezone set to Phoenix, AZ , and switch off Network Operator Time updates.
You might want to call the phone company, or email them - since there must be others with the same issue.

The weird thing is my friend who was with me has the same network provider and a blackberry but he has the correct time even though the network operator time is set to auto-update
phoenix has always been one of those "weird" time zone cities, where daylight savings doesnt always apply. i dont think your phone is defective at all, and i would just enjoy it and not worry about it.
i was in san francisco last weekend. ATT has blanketed 3g everywhere up there😊 great tethering my n95-4😊

Same provider - different service - since Blackberries are heavily dependent on servers to provide their email etc.
and that probably explains it a bit .. more than likely they have their own time servers to synchronise with.
Just a thought .. be interested to hear from anyone who has owned a blackberry. 😊
