Why is it that there are soo many threads on this forum about bricked n95s, Problems that re-occur in different phones but the same problem? I have had numerous issues with my n95-1 (now on n95-2) and my friend is on his 3rd n95-1 replaced twice under nokia warranty. What is the problem here, nokia building sub standard hardware or programing sub standard firmware? How is it that two phones made in the same production line in the same factory and one goes wrong within a year and one lasts 6 or 7 before it gets left in a drawer.

You could ask that same question of any piece of technology nowadays. In the rush to satisfy consumers with bleeding edge technology, quality seems to have slipped.
You could also argue that internet forums such as this will attract a high percentage of people with problems. How often do you go on to an internet forum and see people starting threads saying, "My {insert gadget here} is wonderful and lovely and I've not had a problem with it ever" ? 😉

exactly. a forum is designed to come post your problems. i think you just happen to see a small percentage of problems that likely occur with any device posted here. i see the same when i visit my acura/honda forum for my car. nobody is posting "hey my phone is working normal" threads.
