Keys not working

I've tried searching for an answer to this to no avail.

Recently, and this may be linked to upgrading my firmware to v21, a couple of the keys on my N95 Classice have intermittently stopped working. The green call button and the right softkey seemed to have given up the ghost but, after I turned the phone off and on again, they worked for a few key presses and then stopped again. All other keys work as they should.

I have tried the soft reset option but that hasn't helped. Anyone had similar problems?

I have a similar problem.

I have the latests firmware v21.

My volume keys (camera zoom keys) on the side of the phone work intermittently. Don't work for a day or so then fine for a few days and so on.

When the volume keys dont work I also notice the following:

- "Press Unlock to activate keypad" keeps appearing when the keypad is locked
- cant adjust volume in calls (except using the centre navi key)
- cant zoom in/out in camera
- music multimedia button dont (play, pause, fwd, rwd)
- music multimedia button dont launch music play
- battery runs out quicker; energy profiler shows phone uses over 1w instead of 0.2w it normally runs at.

Any ideas?

I have also had similar problems! Especially with battery running out much quicker than earlier and the green call button don't working. For me, the mal-funtionality suddenly stopped after scanning the phone for infected files with F-secure mobile. No real ideas why it stopped just thought that I should point out that there are others with similar problem.

I've now taken the phone to bits and tried looking for any problems internally but still I can't find anything amiss.

Is there any chance its the new firmware?

My problem has now stopped.

I had recently installed some 3rd party software:
FlipSilent
ShakeSMS (self signed)

So I removed ShakeSMS 1st and the problem persisted.
I then removed FlipSilent and there was no sign of the problem.

I then reinstalled only ShakeSMS signed and I have not had the problem since I last posted so fingers crossed it shouldn't return.

I'm tempted to reinstall FlipSlient but dont want a buggy phone again...guess thats the only way to prove it it was what caused the problem...I'll give it a little more time before I try

I previously reported that I had battery drain issues which I found to be due to 3rd party software, I suspected FlipSilent v1.03 was the perpetrator and can now saw I truely believe that to be the case.

Without FlipSilent my phone has been working fine not battery drain or other buggy issues like my clock needing to be reset when my phone was turned off or my slider not unlocking when the phone when slide up.

Yesterday I installed FlipSilent v1.05 and almost immediately my phone started playing up; the slider issue appeared within minutes.

I didn't wait for the battery drain issue to start or to see if the clock would start needing reset...I uninstalled it and my phone is fine.
I have been trying to report the issues I had with Torgen but could not get access to post...maybe someone out there can report this to him

Always be careful installing software that runs 24/7. This includes Psilocs DRM and the 'License Manager' used by Nokia Maps, QuickOffice aso. There's bound to be battery drain. Bugs are to be considered part of the deal of every piece of soft. This means that if you never shut down the soft, you never shut down the bugs either.

I have quite a bit of soft on my device, but nothing that runs constantly. Right now I am on day 3 of the latest charge and I still have all battery bars visible 😊
