Just wondered what everyone's C drive state was, as today, while trying to install an app I got a memory full error. Quick switch to Devicestatus showed 2 meg left. Oops. Slightly full. And I remember reading somewhere on this forum that you'd never fill up the internal memory. Ha. Yes I have. Had to remove some apps and reinstal on the card. Think it's time to rethink what goes where because I'm stumped as to what is taking up all the space.
Full C drive
I have 101mb free memory. I install most my apps to the memory card anyway so that, should I reformat the phone, they all still work without having to reinstall them.
For the driver apps and things like that, I use the phone memory. I have about 1500 txts on my phone memory (which take up 2mb) and the photos I take go straight to the memory card.
So I dont really know how the hell you managed to fill it up 😃 Maybe a backup and reformat is due?
you could try xplore and look at c/system/dmr. That's a classic memory hog.
i filled up my phone memory on my first firmware, cause i installed every app known to man. now i know what i need and only install the good stuff.

Spooky, because I had exactly the same problem last week. <whistles 'twilight zone' theme>. I use Y-browser as a file manager and set about looking to see what had gobbled up all the memory, but Y-browser doesn't tell you the size of a folder. Eventually, by uninstalling some apps and reinstalling on my flash card, I got it down to the point where there was at least enough space for things to work (maybe 20MB or so), but it still didn't seem right. I've just looked now, though, and I've got 94.2MB free, which does seem about right. Bloody weird.
Are you are using the latest firmware with Flashlite 3 ?
When you ran out of memory did you reboot the phone?
When you browse the internet using the S60 browser and the page you are browsing contains flash it stores a copy of the *.swf flash file in C:/System/Temp
Sadly when you exit the browser or clear the browsers cache..... it doesn't delete these files, they remain there until you reboot your phone.
So if you have done a lot of browsing and haven't rebooted your phone for a while it soon creates a massive build up of flash files.
Not saying this is the problem in your case, but it may be or add to your issue.
It is safe to manually delete the files in C:/System/Temp if you wish
Yeah, that seems possible. Thanks for the tip.
Soz for not contributing to this thread I started but work has now blocked AAS (too much web traffic!! guess I need to spend less time here) anyway, using only my trusty N95, I can now add that I had to do a full reset. That of course meant reinstalling everything (and can you find all those sis files and reg codes when you need them?) added to which I might as well take the opp to change to v21, so still running a bare bones N95 until I get the chance to reflash tonight. Hopefully up and running again tomorrow. It's amazing how much I rely upon all the apps I have on this thing (not least of which is the BT keyboard-my thumb is sore after writing this!)
