GPS Position about 5 minutes behind?

Hi all,

Wonder if you can help. I have a new N95 8gb. When using the sat nav for car journeys, the map location it shows and navigation, is about 5 minutes behind.

For example, I reach a round about in my car and then the phone catches up about 5 minutes later and tells me where to go.

I downloaded the maps from nokia, but don't think this would be the cause?

Just check.... Settings > General > Positioning > Positioning methods.
Make sure that Assisted GPS, Intergrated GPS and Nework based are ticked.
Also is your Positioning server defined?

If its consistantly behind, I suspect its a problem with the program.

Assuming your using nokia maps, try google maps. Its not proper satnav, but you will be able to see if its tracking you right. Make sure you have some data allowance.

If its tracking you ok, then it will be nokia maps (or whatever program your using). In which case, Id suggest an uninstall/reinstall.

Thanks for the help guys.

Ian-Ross - All of those are ticked and my server is set to supl.nokia.com

Bartmanekul - I will try and find google maps and install....

this does sound like a problem with the application, like a code error or something. try out the google maps like others said just to see if that is accurate. though you need a data plan to really use google maps in the car.
