using n95 latest firmware on t mobile uk and i have been impressed with the web and walk but recently I've lost the 3.5g sign and doing a speed test shows it to be less than dial up. is their a setting that I've changed, network is on dual mode.:con?

Are you in a 3G area if your not it will revert to GPRS speeds which are dialup. Check with Tmobiles coverage finder.
wasnt this the carrier over there in UK that is limiting the bandwidth to mobile phones? that might be why your speeds suck.

Do you definitely have 'High Speed Packet Access' enabled in the Connections>Packet Data menu?
