Upcoming new navigator - Not good

I have just found out that the upcoming 6210 navigator is only going to have a 6 month nokia maps licence.

Before this, I was really stuck between this and the 6220 classic.

The classic trumps it in a number of ways, camera (5mp with xenon as opposed to 3.2 with no lens cover), memory, and a few other things.

The Navigator has a magnometer (compass), and will have a proper car holder that allows it to charge, rather than having to plug in a car charger all the time.

I have also found out its unlikely to come with the car holder. Which is another 20 at the very least.

So unless the new navigator is vastly less than the 6220 classic (unlikely), I see very little reason to go with it.

Cant help but think thats a big mistake by Nokia. If your buying a phone specifically for navigation, your going to get a suprise when after 6 months it says you have to pay for it.

I understand it cannot be an eternal licence, because nokia maps give free map updates, which is traditionally how satnav makes the money.

However, at very least make it 18 months long, which is what a lot of contracts are nowadays.

Rather dissapointed in that, I have to say.

End result, I'll be buying the classic and putting a different satnav program on there, not nokia maps since I dont like subscription based ones.
