I reported last week that GooSync was testing Contacts sync with GMail Contacts - it just came out of beta and now anyone with a GooSync Premium account can do the same contact sync. Do note some of the caveats from my original article though.
Read on in the full article.
Having discovered this new opportunity, I was naffed to find out that it didn't work properly and 'hung' when trying to execute. I don't know if this will help anyone but it seemed to start behaving when I signed out of my GMail account and closed the browser, then signed out of my GooSync account and closed the browser and finally rebooted the handset. Then it all seemed to suddenly 'play ball' for me.
As Steve Litchfield said in his article, there is lots of stuff you need to accept in terms of limitations (largely because of Google and not GooSync) but it kind of gets there and is a much better solution than Google - GooSync - S60 or Google - Outlook - S60 or any other combination I've tried.
We're getting there!

Worked fine for me first time.
I prefer to use SyncMyCal along with Outlook and stick to syncing the phone itself directly with Outlook. Works well for me. They have introduced Contact Sync with Google as well.
On teh Calander front, I really like the fact that I can sync. my work laptop to one cal and home pc to another. Google can provide the common link.
Just another option for those that want to look at the options...

...but the first sync took a long time, some 15-20 minutes. It seems it actually was sending the contacts all the time, as I could see from gmail contacts how the amount of contacts grew as time went on.
