P800 touch screen only works with button depressed

Hi can someone help

I was gently cleaning my p800 screen while it was on, when it decided it would no longer act as a touch screen, I have discovered if hold the toggle button down it operates correctly.

Does anyone know what to do? Should I do a master reset?

I have tried a master reset, no change

However a fully charged battery emptied within 3 hours so the touch screen must be in some constant state of being actively depressed, any one have any clues at all?

check - clean - resolder LCD connector and touch screen 4 contect at lcd flax.
