as the title says nokia today have released v20 for vodafone branded phones which is great news for any one who wants to keep brand to old onto tv app .

that's great, but for those of us whole have Vista, still cannot upgrade. How annoying is that?!!

Am i correct in saying V2O has been available on orange branded handsets for about 6 weeks,

unless any N95 8GB ORANGE user wants to correct me on this.

branded v20 as not been available for any N95 8GB until now, vodafone are usually quickest to act when nokia anounce updates and go to work

the unbranded version was out 6 weeks back not branded

thats cant be the case, i got an orange upgrade 6 weeks and my N95 8GB was V20, and its def a orange branded handset, but theres not too much branding on it.

you probably have a unbraded phone on orange with orange themes saved in external memory but 6 weeks back the firmware released was for unbranded versions even nokia and sites like AAS reported it was for unbranded phones,
the branded version are not released at same time as they have to be ok'ed by the operators and things have to be added and removed.
You'll find that your's is a unbranded phone locked on orange network .
I guarantee the only way you could of upgraded to v20 6 weeks back when the firmware was 1st released is if you have unbranded device or you debranded youself by changing Product code.
Every one here will also tell you the same

I'm not going to mention nothing else about this subject b/c diagreements like this end up with stupidity and it does'nt really matter neither who's correct b'c i have no use for anything Orange any way LOL

is there a way to tell if my phone is unbranded, when i got the phone i manually removed the orange toolbar,

or if anyone can tell me if orange have released V20 on n95 8gb?

Hi, you must use an application called NSS (Nemesis Software Suite) to read the product code stored in your phone. Then compare this to the product code your phone SHOULD have, which is a seven-digit number printed on the label behind the battery, and normally starts "05.....".

Just enter your product code (from the battery label) on the following web page to find the latest Orange version:

You'll not lose vodafone apps or setting's like 3G & wap access points b/c theres a branded version so you'll have everything what was on there when you brought it as new

Hopefully somebody else with a branded Orange handset will take the time to post their product code for you.

But v20.0.016 is indeed the latest version for you.

Guys what is the benefit of upgrading to V20 from V15 just upgraded to V15 last week dnt wana have to install all the apps again it can be a painfully slow process 🙄 so your thoughts on the benefits would be greatly appreciated :icon14:

Thanx

Is there no one with a orange n95 8gb that can clarify this? :con?
