Sports Tracker adds video

With version 1.76, out an hour ago, Sports Tracker's name continues to confuse more than a little - Nokia just added support for user-shot video clips (taken during your walk/run, which then appear on the Sports Tracker web site), plus support for devices like the N78 and N96. Comments welcome on how they've handled video resampling during the scan and upload process - if at all. Comments also welcome on whether videos are compatible with the Sports Tracker widget.

You're right that the name's wrong...

Maybe Journey Tracker or Journey Log or something like that?

Perhaps the sportstracker site should do a win-a-N96-with-backpack if you suggest a winning new name 😉

It seems Nokia have trust issues internally! "Unable to install a protected application from an untrusted supplier!" on my E90.

especially i am still missing one thing to justify the name sports tracker - where is the heart rate monitor?

beside the gps still beeing crappy to a real gps, that would stop me from using my garmin forerunner - if there was a heart rate monitor for the sports-tracker.

so i'd suggest simply "tracker" as a new name 😊

Call me stupid if I'm wrong but where exactly is this new video option in Sports Tracker? I can't find it anywhere...

And in reply to smartnick, I've found the GPS to be MUCH better on the new firmware and on this latest version of Sports Tracker. I always activate the GPS about 5/10 minutes before I go for my run so it has time to "warm up" and then I don't have any problems.

It's not an "option" as such. You need to log a trip, and then when you upload the trip to the Sportstracker service, it will ask you if you want to "search for associated media items". If you answer yes, it will search your phone for any pictures or video taken during your journey and then upload them too.

When using Sports tracker 1.76 on my Nokia N95, I can not take a video, because there is not enough memory!!

Was this tested by Nokia??
