Excel sheet issue: dollar signs are now Euro symbols

Hello this is my first post. I just recieved my E90 cellphone today.
I will be using it alot with excel sheets.

I am a bit confused as to why all of my "$" symbols in my formulas are appearing as "european currency symbols". Where do I edit this?

such as my formula is: =A7*(1+$B$6)

so a "$" should be showing up... but its not... its that funky L looking symbol.

I purchased the phone online, direct from Nokia. I was surprised that the default page for the web browser pointed me to a middle-east region version for nokia... though it was in English. The Software that I received with the phone... selecting a language for installation... was English(United Kingdom)... not America. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. But as I mentioned... my formulas are using $ symbols and they are showing up as:

this is going to confuse the hell out of my sales reps.

That's not the Euro Symbol which is �
That IS the GBP symbol �
Which is what we tend to use as a currency symbol here in the UK....

Check your language settings under tools > settings > general > personalisation > language

Select American / US if there is such an option.
