1)How do I add my music to the library? When i first copied it to the memory card it was all there but now I have upgraded my firmware none of it is showing. It can be played by going to it in file manager just not showing in Music library,
2) Switching between open apps - Chr and tab works fine when the device is open but how can I do it with the device closed?
3) If I have an app open and I on the front screen then open the device it appears on the large screen - if I have an app open on the large screen and close the device it reverts back to the desktop and I can't get back to my app (see 2 above) can this be changed?
4) In 'App Manager' some show a jigsaw piece with a red cube in the bottom right others show a different jigsaw piece with a blue cube - why?
5) Am I OK to install all apps to the memory card or are their some that must be installed to main memory?
6) Can i get any of my installed apps to show on my desktop?
7) What advantages (if any) does Roadsynch have over MfE?
You can tell I'm new to Symbian can't you? Now I have push email working I like the e90 - just a bit of a change from WinMo!
2) hold the applications button (left of joypad) - you can then scroll between open apps. "C" button closes
3) this is an option buried in the Tools -> Settings -> General -> Personalisation -> Display -> Cover Display to Desk (on / off)
6) Tools -> Settings -> General -> Personalisation -> Standby Mode -> Active Stanby On THEN Active Standby Apps -> select the icons / apps you want on your Desk

and the answer to q1 is, in the music library, select options, update music library. It will refresh your tracks.
4. Red ones are native sis or sisx apps, and blue ones are java apps.
5. I always install apps on the phone memory these days as the e90 has plenty of memory spare and i find most apps run a little quicker and less laggy than on the memory card. The other reason is you can remove the mem card to edit files on your pc for example and it doesn't affect anything on your phone. Also if you connect your phone to the pc in storage mode, anything running from the card needs to be shut which can be inconvenient.

That's all my questions answered (apart from the last one which I can research myself if no one knows)
I went to update my library as suggested and it found 0 tracks. i then checked and they were all there - meh. Strange but true. I'll know for next time.
As for installing apps to main memory, I found that when I updated my firmware all my apps on my card still worked (does symbian have no equivalent of the windows registry?) and also, no matter how much memory you have, I find it soon fills up....
But i will bare your advice in mind.

i just bought E90 but you tube is not running videos on it but itsworking on internet connection, should i upgrade software or u have got some other solution a well, ta
