Hello all this is my first post on all about symbian i hope its of some help.
I recently purchased a 3 network N95-2 8GB online and hated all the silly 3 features it had so i set forth to remove the old firmware (15.00.15) and replacing it with the updated V20.0.016 Firmware!!!
Things you need:
1.Updated version of Nokia Update service from the nokia website.
2. Nemises service suite
Both can be easily googled and downloaded.
Steps to debranding and updating
Please note complete this task at your own risk it could completly stuff your phone (brick it)
Steps to debranding
1. Ensure your phone is fully charged and connect it via the usb port of your pc.
2.After installing nemesis service suit open and click scan for new device in the top right corner.
3.Click the "phone" Tab
4.Click on the "Read" button. The product code along with the other codes should now be visible.
5. Find the product code box to the right and click the enable box now it is very important that you find the correct product code you cannot use just a normal N95 Code it must be and N95 8GB Code. I used 0550453 the australian code as i live in australia i thought it would be safest.
Note N95 8GB Product codes below.
6.Once you have selected a product code copy it to the product code box in nemesis service suite with the tickbox enabled and click write! It is now safe to close nemesis.
7.Run the Nokia update service as per normal following all intructions as directed.
8.Thats it and your done!!!
9. Note that if you wish to complete this task all Three network Branding will be removed and no Three options with be avialable to the phone anymore.
