E90 Contacts: Memory Full! Close some applicationsand try again.

When I attempt to edit my contacts, I constantly get a message stating the the Memory is full and the I should try to close open applications. However when I check, there are no applications running. Unless something is running in the background?

Is this a common error? I am running the newest firmware version (210.34.75) on my E90 but I also recieved this error with my old firmware version.

I read about a trick on-line to reset the phone by pressing the green key - the star * and the number 3. Will this trick help the Memory Full problem?

You do realise that to effect this 'trick' you need to have the phone turned off and switch it on whilst holding the three buttons, don't you? However, if you've gone through the firmware update procedure, you have effectively done this in any case.

Try (after backing up essential data) doing a *#7370# now that you have updated the firmware - from Steve Litchfield's experiments reported on today (see News) it would seem that some problems can remain after a reflash and only come right after you start using the phone and doing a *#7370# procedure.

It seems like a strange message to get, which I've never seen.

On reviewing my post, it might be pertinent to ask how many Contact records you have? The system is not designed to work efficiently with thousands. Hundreds should be OK though, depending on how much data you stuff into each record.
