windows live, how to get rid of the search line on desktop?

Hi. I installed windows live in order to have msn, but the line of search on desktop is really annoying. I can't get rid of it even when I uninstalled the whole windows live.

Could you help me to get rid of it? Thanks.

how come you didn't have it before you installed windows live? i think everyone has this for firmware v20 upwards if i'm not mistaken

It's part of Active Standby and part of the firmware, so therefore cannot be removed. However, if you switch Active Standby off, it will go away, as will all your Active Standby shortcuts.

To remove Active Standby:-

Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby mode > Active standby > Off
